WHY I AM RUNNING
District 23 deserves a decisive, tenacious, and unrelenting leader who will use their influence to inspire, empower, and revitalize both the city and its citizens. I have the audacity to believe in a unified and resilient Swainsboro, where our diverse community of hardworking, family-centered townspeople can come together to create a safe, equitable and prosperous future for the next generation. The most prevalent issues plaguing our great city can only be addressed head on, with actionable solutions-based plans, if we are to actualize sustainable, long-term change. I am running for election as District 23s Next GA State Senator because I believe that dedication and innovative servant leadership will lead to transformative change that reinvigorates the district, stimulates the economy and creates opportunities for everyone to move fearlessly forward!

SHAYNA M. BOSTON
I am honored, elated, and humbled by the opportunity to serve the beautiful people of my hometown & District 23, where my roots are so deeply embedded.
As the granddaughter of Desse D. Boston, Emanuel County's 1st African American Assistant Superintendent, I was taught very early on the importance of setting a high standard of excellence in all that I set my heart, mind, and hands to undertake.
As a native daughter of Swainsboro, I am no stranger to the transformative past and beautiful future that awaits our awe-inspiring city. And now, as a proud mother, I am more aware of racial and socioeconomic divides, that often stifle collective growth, promote educational disparities and hinder professional development. Since leaving the hallways of Swainsboro High School in 1999, I have worked tirelessly to master the skills, business acumen and innovative solutions-based work ethic to create amazing opportunities for myself and those that I work with. It is now my mission to couple what I know with my unwavering passion for people to unite, inspire, empower and deliver real results for the betterment of everyone.
As a tenacious visionary, unrelenting unifier, faithful servant leader and fearless change agent, my dedication to seeing our district grow and prosper is my top priority, as District 23's next Senator.

The only way to effectively serve the citizens of District 23, is to know what matters most to the people who call this district home. I’ve had the honor and privilege of meeting with our neighbors to find out what issues they believe can be immediately addressed in making our home better.
